Thank You for Supporting Mental Health on R U OK? Day

Shannon M |

Last Thursday, on R U OK? Day, we came together as a community to support mental health in the AV and music industries. With your help, we raised $800 for Support Act, an organisation dedicated to providing crisis relief services and mental health support to musos, managers, crew, and production professionals across Australia. Every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting those who keep the show running behind the scenes.

The Hidden Toll of Mental Health

Mental health struggles are more common than you might think. One in five Australians aged 16-85 will experience a mental illness this year, yet 54% won’t reach out for help. And the reality is tough. Every day, 8.6 Australians die by suicide, and 75% of them are men. The mental toll of working in high-pressure environments, like AV and event production, can feel overwhelming—especially since 2020.

Post-pandemic, things have been even harder for the AV industry. Gigs got cancelled. Jobs disappeared. And stress levels soared. It’s been relentless. Long hours, physical demands, tight deadlines—it all adds up. Yet, many in our industry don’t feel comfortable asking for help, especially men.

Support Act: Helping Those Who Keep the Show Running

This is where Support Act steps in. They provide vital support to those in the music and AV industries, offering crisis relief and mental health services, including a 24/7 Wellbeing Helpline (1800 959 500). They've been a lifeline for many, especially in these challenging times. So if you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out—to Support Act or Lifeline (13 11 14). It could make all the difference.

Together, We Made a Difference

At Titan AV, we believe in supporting our community. Whether it's helping event pros stay on track or giving back through mental health initiatives, we’re here to make a difference. Raising $800 through our R U OK? Day campaign shows just how strong we are when we come together.

Thank you for being part of that. Together, we’re not only supporting individuals but also building a stronger, healthier community. The campaign may be over, but let’s keep checking in on each other. We’ll be here to continue the conversation.
